The plants in my aquarium keep dying?

Condor asked:

I have had my 29 gallon aquarium for 8 months now. Whenever I put plants in there, they do fine for about 3 days and then they look like they’re dying. What should I do? Also, should I change the bulb in my hood because it is 8 months old?
My aquarium is steady at 78 degrees.

How do you train a house plant to become an aquarium plant that lives underwater?

I went to a popular pet store for plants for my aquarium, I seen and bought a bambo, “underwater” plant.. they explained that it was trained to live underwater, if i took a regular plant and put it in my tank it would “drown” and conversly if i took the trained underwater bambo out in the air it would die…to much oxygen… How’d they do that?

HI there,
Everytime I turn off the aquarium lights the fish dart around half blind and in shock. I turn on the other lights in the house so it’s not such a shock for them. Is there some kind of light I could get that won’t affect the plants that would maybe simulate a natural moonlight or something? Then maybe that could be turned off before bed and gives them time to adjust. What do you think? Thanks!
Well, I completely meant this as a serious question, but the fist answer made me laugh, so you at least get a thumbs up from me on that one. ha ha! I see some pretty cool aquarium lights, and my fish dart into the sand head down and are stressed, I **** it. But if no one else out there has a solution for this… I guess then they’re all eating fried fish…

Aquarium fishes constantly swimming at top?

Willard asked:

I have a huge fish tank with prob around 100 small fishes. I’ve just completed the pH and ammonia testing and it’s all normal. There are a few plants in there, and a filter is always in use to keep the water filtered. Despite all this, my fishes are always staying at the top of the water. I don’t get this because my aquarium is large enough for them to swim around in, but they don’t.

Thanks.
