I just added bubble stones to my aquarium. It smelled fine. But the other day, I replaced the water and gravel. Now, It smells aweful!!! It gets worse everyday. I use AquaSafe, and i can’t figure out what can make it smell so bad! It was fine before the water and gravel change, but neither are bad. Please help, it smells really bad!!!
The stones were fine at the beginning. It was after I switched the water and gravel. The aquaSafe probably didn’t do it because I used it before I switched the gravel and water.
No, i just replaced the water. Why would i need a filter. I just replaced everything! The air bubbles wouldn’t dislodge bacteria because there has to be bacteria to dislodge.
You guys aren’t reading my details. It’s a rather new tank. I put the fish in for about a week. I cleaned it out. I put new rock & plants. Now it stinks. Listen to what I have to tell you. And to those who are serious, thanks.

I’ll be spending the holiday weekend taking down and cleaning my aquarium. Does anyone know of a fast method for cleaning out the gravel? The aquarium will not be set up again any time soon, so I am not concerned with preserving the bacteria, etc., I just want to wash out all of the debris and make sure it doesn’t smell bad in storage.
